Two scholar pilots have turn out to be the primary Royal Air Power trainees to fly solo at Nato’s flying coaching college on the Italian island of Sardinia.
The pair made their solo flights on the twin-engined Aermacchi T-346 Grasp on the Worldwide Flight Coaching College in Decimomannu, having accomplished their fundamental flying coaching on the Texan T1 within the UK earlier this yr.
Launched in 2020, the Nato Flight Coaching Europe Excessive Visibility Mission helped to hyperlink up and coordinate coaching between member states.

Following their first solo flights on the T-346, the primary two trainees have now progressed to flying air-to-air and air-to-ground fight coaching sorties.

Twelve RAF pilots will likely be educated over the following three years on the air base on the Mediterranean island.
