Labour’s deputy chief Angela Rayner says she’s going to step down if she is discovered to have damaged the legislation.
In a press release, she mentioned she was “utterly assured I’ve adopted the principles always”.
She has been accused of giving false details about her fundamental residence in a row about who lived in her former council home.
Higher Manchester Police (GMP) are investigating whether or not any crimes have been dedicated.
In a press release launched by the Labour Celebration, Ms Rayner mentioned: “If I dedicated a felony offence, I might after all do the precise factor and step down.
“The British public deserves politicians who know the principles apply to them.”
The MP, who can be Labour’s shadow housing secretary, mentioned she appeared ahead to setting out the info with the related authorities as quickly as potential.
